GUATEMALA LA REVUELTA
Originally a cactus farm for natural clothing dye, La Revuelta farm has been in the Samayoa family since the 1800s. The farm produced a variety of products but in1995, under the leadership of Christian Starry (pictured below on a recent visit to our roastery), coffee became their sole focus. Christian was also inspired to create Truth Trading Company, an organization dedicated to producing high quality coffee that is directly traded with full transparency and dedicated to building enduring, trusting relationships with roasters.
La Revuelta farm is one of the first in their region to build their own wet mill; showcasing their continual commitment to managing all aspects of production in order to ensure the highest degree of quality and integrity. The wet mill was named “Los Lirios de Belen” in honor of their grandmother Carmen Samayoa who loved water hyacinth.
This coffee is a naturally processed, bourbon varietal bursting with natural fruit flavors of strawberry and cherry combined with a subtle cacao, hazelnut undertone.
