About the Farmer

Grown in the rich volcanic highland region of Lake Kivu, comes this outstanding coffee. Grown by farmers in the Muungano Agricultural Cooperative, this micro-lot was put together by Optimist Coffee Traders, a social impact company dedicated to showcasing the beauty of Congolese coffee.

A rich coffee with natural milk chocolate sweetness, it also has layers of apple and lemon. Complex and bursting with flavor, it is representative of the kind of quality cup we’ve come to really appreciate from Optimist Coffee Traders. The Muungano Cooperative is comprised of over 4000 members, located around the Lake Kivu region. Their mission is to protect the land for future generations, promote exceptional coffee, and become a resource to the local coffee-growing community.
