About the BK Blend
Joe Bean Coffee Roasters is proud to be supporting Bishop Kearney High School through the creation of a custom blend coffee.
The Bishop Kearney blend comes from community blended lots of coffee, grown by small, family farms. We source from forward thinking organizations that help bridge the gap between quality coffee farmers and coffee roasters such as ourselves.
How does the fundraising effort work?
For every bag of the Bishop Kearney blend sold through this page, Joe Bean will donate 15% to the school for their fundraising efforts.
What does the fundraising efforts go to support?
Bishop Kearney provides financial aid to students from more than a dozen foreign countries, enabling them to become one of the most socioeconomically and ethnically diverse schools in Monroe County. In addition, the school runs the Selects Academy, a girls youth hockey program that brings young women from around the world to participate in the country's highest level of competition—a truly life changing program for many young women.
Is this coffee Fair Trade?
Our coffees are directly sourced through long-standing partner relationships through which we negotiate prices that ensure not only a high standard of living for our farmers but also honors them for the quality harvests they are committed to growing.
Do you offer a decaf?
Although, Joe Bean offers exceptional decaf coffees, we do not have a Bishop Kearney custom decaf blend at this time – if there is interest, we would be happy to look into it.
Do you offer ground coffee or just whole bean?
We offer only whole bean coffee because of our strong belief in sending the best, freshest product possible; one of the ways we accomplish this is by sending whole bean coffee packaged immediately after roasting.
Does Joe Bean have a connection to Bishop Kearney?
Why, yes we do! One of our founders, Kathy Turiano, is a proud graduate of the class of 1982.
