Our first direct trade coffee from Peru comes to us from Finca El Cedro, owned by Gonzalo Guevara Martinez, located high in the northern Andes mountains of the Cajamarca region. Home of the ancient Inca people, this particular region has the perfect recipe for growing coffee—fertile soil, ideal temperatures, and high altitude. Gonzalo, who learned to grow coffee from his father, has dedicated his life to producing high quality, competition-level coffee.
And as the president of Santuario Cooperative, he is also able to uplift his fellow coffee farmers bringing them valuable resources to help them improve coffee quality and production.
Earthy and fruity with notes of caramel as well as a lemony sweetness, this is a great coffee to usher in spring.
